Walking, hiking or trekking – whatever your pace or distance – there are many well-kept and marked paths, with mountain huts for refreshment stops. The Grossglockner (Austria’s highest mountain standing 3,798m above sea level) and the High Alpine Road offers a breathtakingly dramatic and magnificent natural landscape. Both Zell am See Schmittenhöhe and Kitzsteinhorn have wonderful walking opportunities, as well as a huge choice of mountain sports and activities. Summer is a beautiful time to enjoy the Alpine flora of the mountains, meadows and valleys.
